One of three new trucks ordered by the Junction City Fire Department has been delivered.
“After that’s completed we will be going through training with the manufacturer, and that will be on sight here in Junction City. That will be taking place next week and after that concludes we hope to place that truck into service at that time.”
The new truck is manufactured by Rosenbauer LLC and is one of three that the JCFD plans to take possession of this year. They are currently waiting on a new aerial apparatus and one more pumper apparatus.
Rook said that the excitement around the Fire Department is pretty high.
“We’ve been needing to replace our fleet for quite some time now. The staff is very excited to be heading down this new path of getting these vehicles in service over the next weeks and coming months.”
The new pumper apparatuses are being financed through a lease purchase program with Intrust Bank Inc. for $1.2 million dollars. The city’s match would be taken out of the fire departments equipment reserve fund. The new aerial apparatus will be paid for using money they received from a fire fighters assistance grant and the departments equipment reserve fund.
