Rodeo came to town Friday evening.
Junction City Rodeo Association President Daryl Blocker estimated the turnout at 1,500 or more people. “I don’t think I’ve seen it this full on a Friday night. Usually Saturday night it’s better. I hope it’s better Saturday night.”
There were 16 bull riders in that event including two that stayed on for up to several seconds.
The Coppertown Clown, who travels the nation participating in rodeos with his trained rescue dogs entertained the audience. Blocker found it interesting. “For him to be able to take those rescue dogs and do what he does that’s very good.”
There will be a special needs rodeo at the arena just off South Spring Valley Road at 10 a.m. Saturday. The rodeo then resumes at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. You can purchase tickets at the gate or at Orscheln Farm and Home, and at Country Floral & Gifts.
