The day will be full of activities for the whole community of Junction City and surrounding areas to come together and celebrate patron saint, St. Francis Xavier.
Although they’re “freezin’ for a reason” the weather this year looks to be favorable, and St. Xavier Principal Sean Augustine says there’s still time to register for all the fun.
“We have several teachers, also Father Kyle and myself who will be jumping into the freezing cold Milford Lake,” Augustine said. “There’s a lot of different things going on, so if you have no registered for the fun run/walk, if you have not purchased your ticket to eat, there’s just so many things you can come out and be a part of and it’s just a really fun day. With the weather being a little warmer I think that may even bring out a few more people.”
Things will get underway with an 11 a.m. mass at St. Francis Xavier Parish. The two mile fun run and walk will begin at 2 p.m. with the frozen plunge following at 3. Events will wrap up at 3:30 with an awards ceremony.
The cost to attend the fun run is $25 and $10 for a lunch voucher.
