More than 365 people were served at the fourth annual free Community Thanksgiving breakfasts in Junction City and Grandview Plaza. One of the breakfasts was held at the 12th Street Community Center in Junction City, and the other at the Grandview Plaza Community Center. There were also home deliveries to disabled veterans, elderly and disabled.
A total of 67 people volunteered to help with the event, and local businesses helped sponsor the breakfasts. Kevin and Ayngi Summers helped organized the breakfasts.
Ayngi Summers noted they were grateful to the volunteers and especially to the sponsors. She stated having two sites made it convenient for people to attend and enjoy an over the top breakfast with us as we “do a little bit of good everywhere we go!”
One email comment received from Pastor J.L. Hagemeister stated, “I don’t remember ever eating a more delicious breakfast, ever!” Sincere thanks!”
