disappearance of a 13-year-old Junction City girl, Beverly Ward in 1979.
Giordano stated that Ward was discovered missing from her bedroom, and she has never been found. “It’s never been an actual closed case. We’ve had detectives over the years looking at it. The FBI actually looked at it back then as well, nothing came of it.”
Giordano recently had a discussion with an FBI agent that works on a juvenile rapid response team for kidnappings. He asked for the case to be sent to him and he would find out if the FBI would accept it. “Hopefully they will accept it to open it back up and maybe get a lead on that.”
Giordano noted the only evidence they had in 1979 was that a window screen had been cut and located in the yard, Ward had been looking forward to going to camp, and her money was still there in place so authorities knew she had not been a runaway.
Giordano discussed the case recently during a visit on the JC Now program on 1420 KJCK.
