No one was injured.
According to the Sheriff’s Deparment O’Johnathan Smith, Grandview Plaza, was driving a Range Rover east bound when it caught fire. Smith pulled to the side of the roadway and jumped out of the vehicle, which continued to travel down an embankment. The vehicle was a total loss.
Deputies responded to I-70 about nine miles east of Junction City at 1:30 a.m. Sunday for a non-injury single vehicle accident. Curtis Burk, Des Moines, Iowa was traveling westbound when his vehicle veered right and struck a rock embankment.
Deputies responded to the intersection of U.S. 77 and Rucker Road at 12:19 p.m. Sunday for a two-vehicle non-injury accident. Joshua Maille, Junction City, was traveling north on U.S. 77 in his Nissan Versa when it hit the rear end of a Toyota 4-runner driven by Kelley Paskow. Paskow had been stopped at a traffic light.
