The FBI is providing enhanced training to investigators at 35 law enforcement agencies on responding to child abductions or mysterious disappearances of a child. The training will culminate in a one-day field training exercise on Thursday in El Dorado, Kansas.
The FTX will reinforce concepts learned during the classroom training in El Dorado at Butler County Community College. Investigators will apply specialized skills and techniques toward solving a mock child abduction as a cohesive team.
During the classroom training, the FBI’s national Child Abduction Rapid Deployment Team and Behavioral Analysis Unit have been providing instruction on topics ranging from an overview of child sex offenders to guidance on false allegations of abductions and abduction case management.
Supervisors from the Junction City Police Department will be attending the one day training.
