Siglinde “Linda” Bellomy, age 75, of Chapman, Kansas, passed away on June 30, 2018 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, Kansas.
Linda, as she was called, was born on September 27, 1942 in Kirchanschoring, Germany to Berhard and Anna (Vondermayer) Strobl.
She grew up in Kirchanschoring and attended school there obtaining the equivalent of a high school diploma. In 1962, she moved to Weisbaden Germany and met David Bellomy. Later that same year they were married. They moved to several duty stations and the in 1980, they moved to Chapman Kansas and raised their family.
Linda enjoyed quilting, gardening, collecting antiques, attended her children’s activities and they later, spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons Ronnie (Cynthia) Bellomy of Chapman, Kansas and Mark (Ginger) Bellomy of Junction City, Kansas; daughter Sandi (William) Merkle of Salina, Kansas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Other relatives include her siblings in Germany. Brothers Gerhard, Seph, and Otto along with sister, Christa Strobl.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gerhard and Anna Strobl, husband David Bellomy, and siblings Stephan and Anna Strobl.
There will be a graveside service on July 9, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Veteran’s Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas. Pastor Connie Wooldridge, Chapman United Methodist Church officiating.
