Douglas Lamar Cox, 78, passed away in Manhattan, KS, on December 31, 2018. He is survived by his wife Beverly J. Cronn-Cox of Manhattan, his sons Mike Cox and family of El Paso, TX; Bart Cox and family of Seattle, WA; his daughter Keli Johnson and son of Kirkland, WA; sister-in-law Robin Houston of Bellevue, WA; step-sons Edmund Cronn and family of Wichita, KS; and Joe Cronn of Clarksville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Sandy Cox.
Doug spent his life as a long-time educator and football coach in Idaho. He was well respected and was always being contacted by the students and athletes he had influenced. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and watching their sports activities. He especially enjoyed talking about football with everyone he met. His smile will be missed by all.
His remains were cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with interment to follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bonner Ferry, Idaho, at a later date.
