Auh’shay Sanchez of Butler County Community College and Junction City High School graduate has earned two awards in the Kansas Association of Broadcasters student production competition.
Sanchez was received first place for Complete Sports Feature “Bowl Game Special” in the Undergraduate Radio Category and Honorable Mention DJ Personality “DJ Shay Shay Boomin” in the Undergraduate Radio category.
Butler County Community College students combined to win 15 KAB awards this year. They competed against two and four-year colleges, receiving more first place awards than any other college at the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Workshop, which was held at the University of Kansas in Lawrence.
Sponsored by the KAB, the workshop featured panel discussions, table talks and a career fair for students from Kansas high schools and colleges. Other award winning students from Butler include Zeb Campbell of Independence; Tyler Godwin, Haysville; Madison Marx, Colwich; Kyle Phillips, Conway Springs; and Zach Schwarzenberger, Conway Springs.
