She was born August 26, 1952, in Melbourne, England, the daughter of James R. Sr. and Katherine (Johnson) Tucker.
Shirley graduated from Centralia High School in 1970.
On September 10, 1970, at the Vermillion Christian Church she was married to Robert A. “Bob” Bramhall.
Shirley worked for Kansas State Travel and booked many of the trips for Kansas Farm Bureau, was the Director of Flint Hills Breadbasket for 17 years and turned it into the great Manhattan community resource it is today, and then worked for the Area Agency on Aging until her retirement.
Shirley loved to travel, take care of her garden, and enjoyed cooking and reading. The time she enjoyed the most was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Bob of Manhattan; three children: Clay Bramhall and his wife Anissa of St. George, KS, Ryan Bramhall and his wife Krista of Manhattan, and Faith Bramhall and his wife Amanda of Shawnee, KS; two siblings: Charolene McMullen and her husband Jim of Centralia, KS, and John Tucker and his wife Julie of Columbus, NE; and seven grandchildren: Kieffer Houston, Ashley, Amber, Rylan, Payton, Waylon and Dylan Bramhall.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and by two siblings: Jimmy Tucker Jr. and June Traphagen.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, April 18th, at the School in Vermillion, Kansas with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Interment will follow in the Vermillion Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 17th, at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home.
