Junction City Baseball and Softball teams play on new fields for the first time

The Junction City High School baseball and softball teams honored their seniors in the final home games of the season on Tuesday night. But the senior recognition was not the only storyline, as both teams played on their new fields for the first time.

The Lady Jay softball team hosted Topeka High. The Lady Jays lost both games in the doubleheader on Tuesday night. The final score from game one was 6-1, and the final score in game two was 14-5. Junction City's record falls to 8-10 on the season.

Between games one and two, Junction City honored their seven seniors on the softball team. The seven seniors honored were Jordan Hunt, Macie Muto, Sara Rexrode, Maya Shaw, Gabbi Sederlin, Bailey Pape, and  Anja Vonspreckelson.

The Blue Jay baseball team hosted Goddard-Eisenhower on Tuesday night. Junction City split the doubleheader, falling game one, 1-0, and winning game two, 10-9. The Blue Jays record on the season is 9-15.

The Blue Jays honored their four seniors on Tuesday night. The four seniors honored were Brock Bazan, Cooper Bogenhagen, Gavin Moore, and Lincoln Upham. 

Next up for both the baseball and softball teams is regionals, which are next week.
