Registered offender jailed for alleged battery on officer in Riley Co.

RILEY COUNTY —A Kansas man with a long history of crime is under investigation on new allegaions.

Just after 3p.m. Thursday, police arrested 41-year-old Wendell Parrish, of Manhattan in the 1000 block of South Seth Child Road, according to the Riley County Police Department activity report.

He was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for violation of a court order. The original charges in this matter are for battery on a law enforcement officer, interference with law enforcement and battery.

Parrish has been listed as a registered offender since August of 2013 for drug convictions in Riley County, according to the offender registry. He also has previous convictions for battery, domestic battery and violation of the offender registration, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections. He also was discipled over a dozen times while in prison, according to the department of corrections.

 Parrish was issued a total bond of $15,000 and was confined at the time of this report.
