In multiple ways the Geary County Convention & Bureau works to market Geary County to a larger public audience. Paige Mendoza, Marketing & Sales Coordinator, ensures there is a strong social media presence before and during travel shows.

Geary County offers fishing and hunting opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts with Milford Lake and Fort Riley. "We have an outstanding area in Geary County from hiking trails to our scenic waters, "explained Mendoza.

All of the county must be promoted with the right type of literature. The Visitors Guide is one strong tool. Fifteen thousand copies were initially printed this year, including 9,000 for distribution in the community. Others are used to showcase Geary County including trade shows and for new Soldiers at Fort Riley.

TV video has also been introduced to showcase fishing and hunting including Bassmaster and Walleye Championship tournaments, plus celebrations such as Freedom Fest and Oktoberfest.

The CVB staff attend and operate a booth at travel shows including those held in Omaha and Denver. Mendoza noted that big crowds were experienced at both locations with long lines of people waiting to get in.

Geary County is hosting KCAC Conference events including the recent KCAC men's and women's Bowling Tournaments and the upcoming 2025 conference cross country meet at Milford State Park.

There will also be a Kansas Kayak Anglers tournament at Milford Lake this year.
