The Geary County Historical Society will be hosting their annual Reenactment Weekend at Spring Valley Historic Site, 816 North Spring Valley Rd, this Saturday, April 20th from 10am-2pm. All historic buildings including the Spring Valley School House, which is original to the site, the Little Cabin and the Wetzel Cabin will be open for tours. Moose Jury will be on site, teaching visitors about the life of the early plainsmen and there will be demonstrations teaching visitors how to use hand-crank sewing machines.
Friday, April 19th, the Historical Society will be welcoming local middle schoolers to explore the site, so visitors are asked to wait until the public event on Saturday to visit.
Entry to the event is free, though donations are appreciated. Weather permitting, a hot dog roast will be available at the fire pit.
