Man hospitalized after report of gunfire in Aggieville

RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting in Aggieville.

Just after 1:30a.m. Sunday, police on routine foot patrol in the Aggieville district on Manhattan heard a possible gunshot coming from the 1100 block of Moro Street, according to a media release from the Riley County Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene where they located a 22-year-old  being detained by a bouncer. Upon initial assessment of the situation, officers observed the 22-year-old had sustained a head injury to which they called EMS and escorted the subject to the Aggieville Substation for further evaluation.

Once there, officers discovered the subject also had a gunshot wound to his right thigh. EMS transported the victim/subject to Via Christi for treatment.
