There will be a Stuff the Pantry effort

Posted Mar 28, 2024 2:37 PM

LHEAT and United Way of Junction City / Geary county will help STUFF THE PANTRY. They will be collecting food and baby items. Donations will be shared with the Geary County Food Pantry, JC Pregnancy Center, Konza Cupboard, and other food pantries.

According to United Way Executive Director Nichole Mader donations will go to help those in need in the community. With summer right around the corner, the Geary County Food Pantry and other emergency pantries need help. Each month, the food pantries in the community provide food for over 2,000 people.

In addition to food items, they will be collecting items for the JC Pregnancy Center. Often, when a new or expecting parent comes into the pregnancy center, it is to get help with items for their little one. This could be diapers, wipes, pacifiers, or baby towels.

Volunteers who would like to help can sign up at through a Sign Up Genius link. Volunteers will help collect items and/or deliver them to the intended recipients. In addition to live days, there will be drop off boxes throughout the community.
